Welcome Wine Weekend

It’s time to celebrate with all things vino as we launch our new wine list!

We are so excited to launch our new wine list after months of careful choosing and consideration. We’ve also appreciated the opportunity to meet some of our countries greatest wine-masters and representatives through the wonderful tastings we’ve hosted in the past year or so.

Our new wine list is unique and each wine was carefully selected before making the cut.

This upcoming weekend 19 & 20th July 2014 we will host an all-weekend celebration for all things ‘vino’. All our wines on the new wine list will be on the tasting table.

Further, we will also host some big name tastings throughout the weekend. De Krantz and Glen Carlou will join us, as well as a Barista from Roastmasters Coffee Roastery and learn more about cheese from Tweefontein Farmhouse Cheese, our very own local award-winning cheese farm.

Our new wine list showcases wines from both the largest wineries in South Africa, as well as smaller bespoke and unique wineries. We cover a vast taste in our list to make sure all wine drinkers find that special taste they desire.

There are quite a few award-winning wines on our new list, so make sure you enquire from your waiter if you want something exceptional and recognized through national awards. Some of the wine farms include:

  • Robertson
  • Glen Carlou
  • Darling
  • Du Toitskloof
  • Darling Cellars
  • Earthbound

We also show-case organic wines from Earthbound Winery (https://www.facebook.com/EarthboundWines/)  for the earth conscious. Their wines are delicious and they follow Fairtrade principles with great business ethos: ‘Organically grown wine with Fairtrade principles, Earthbound cares about our people, the environment, sustainability, and making the best wine in SA.’

The new list was designed to capture the essence of Ginelli’s and invite patrons to take a closer look, get to know the wines and their history a little bit better. We invite everyone to indulge in the age old tradition of enjoying a glass of wine in an environment where they can truly taste, learn & enjoy.

The guys can enjoy a larger beer selection featuring a bigger list of premium, imported and flavoured beers.

Our ‘kettle’ is ever-popular with different ‘shots of tradition’ available in the restaurant. These are great to have your dessert in a shot with popular shots being our ‘melktertjies & boeretroos‘

Wine is all about taste and smell and we tried to capture that in our new list. Stay in touch with what we’re up to and join in the excitement of our tastings.

We hope to see you all there this weekend!
